The Carillon in Paradise
for Paradise Place, Birmingham (UK)
by Maya Verlaak
Birmingham does not have a carillon instrument in a church tower.
Starting from September 2015, the area around Paradise Place, so also the
Birmingham Conservatoire, will be demolished within the next two years.
The company that puts fences around the construction area to avoid
passengers walking on the construction site is called “Carillion”.
Create a waterproof plaque stating the conventional Catholic Church
bell ringing hours and attach it to the fence together with a thick
rope that can be pulled, if one wants to hear the carillon.
